All About Me

Hi and welcome to first grade!!  This year's theme is "Galactic Learning".  My name is Ms. Fisk and this is my twelfth year of teaching.  I have taught first grade for ten of those years and second grade for two years.  I am originally from Bridgeport, MI where I was born and raised with one older brother.  I attended Saginaw Valley State University where I earned a B.A. in Early Childhood Education After graduation, I moved to Katy, TX where I taught first grade for three years.  I then returned to Michigan and accepted a position teaching second grade at Sycamore.  For the past eight years, I have taught here at Sycamore.  I also have a master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Saginaw Valley State University.

I currently teach with two of the best teachers around.   Mrs. Feibig., Ms. White, and myself make up the first grade team.  We enjoy working together to bring about a sense of community to our grade level.  Your student will be fortunate to get to know all of us during his or her year in first grade.  

Outside of the classroom, I spend my evenings and weekends with my adorable dog Luna. Luna is now one year old! Besides teaching, I have several other hobbies that I enjoy.   I am a martial artist.  I attend Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu classes four days a week.  I also play soccer on the Sycamore Soccer Team.  In the spring, summer, and fall, I run and compete in different 5k races.  During the fall, you can usually catch me attending or watching a football game.  In the summer, I enjoy fishing, boating, kayaking, bike rides, shooting hoops, playing volleyball, and taking long walks with Luna.
