100th Day

This week we will be celebrating the 100th day of school.  Please make sure to get your 100th day posters in as soon as possible so that I can hang them in the hallway.  On the 100th day of school, we will be reading 100 books as a classroom and completing some fun 100th day activities.  It will be so much fun!

This Wednesday is an early release day.  The students will be dismissed at 1:50 pm.  Please make sure that your child has athletic shoes on Monday and Thursday for Kinetics.  Library books should be returned on Wednesday and are due back Thursday.

Music Class

This week will be our first week of Music.  The students will be transitioning from Integrated Arts to Music.  A report card for Integrated Arts was recently sent home in your child's binder.  The students will attend music on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Ms. Montgomery is excited to see her Sycamore Stars from last year as well as welcome our newest Sycamore Stars who began school at Sycamore this year.

Winter Weather

Since we have experienced some inclement weather, please make sure to send the appropriate winter gear with your child each day to school.  Students should wear snow pants, boots, a warm winter coat, a hat, and insulated gloves.  Students are required to go outside unless a doctor's note is provided stating the reason for them to stay inside.  We also do not go outside if the windchill or temperature is below 0 degrees.  Students should also have shoes so that they can change out of their boots.  This really helps to keep our classroom floor from becoming slippery.  Thank you for your support with winter gear!

I will not be in the classroom this Monday.  Instead, I will be attending an all day training.  If you have any questions or transportation changes, please make sure to email me or message me immediately.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back!  I hope that you had a wonderful break with your family.  I also hope that this break allowed your child to get well if he or she was not feeling well before break.  As we get back into the swing of things, we will be taking time this week to focus on reviewing routines and classroom expectations. Please allow your child time to readjust to his or her school environment.
